The present paper is focused on the contemporary architecture of the sacred space, seen as a complex communication process which involves human cultural interaction at multiple levels. Due to the subtelty and complexity of the process, we aim to achieve a better understanding of it by using the concept of imaginary, in order to emphasize the information exchange among the architect and the community, regarding the symbolic nature of the architectural object. Cultural mutations introduced in contemporary society by the emergence of modernism and postmodernism will be briefly discussed as well.Références
