The current issue primarily addresses participants with papers for National Conference on “Equality of opportunity in the face of contemporary challenges” (1st edition), an academic event aimed to debate how contemporary society - exposed to social and political transformations and issues -, responds to the challenge of promoting and ensuring equal opportunities, a fundamental principle for social stability and cohesion.

We invite researchers and practitioners to submit their papers on topics such as: Gender Equality; Gender equality in the workplace/ leadership; Sexual and reproductive rights; LGBTQIA+ rights; Social and professional integration of vulnerable groups; Equality of Educational Opportunity; Models of good practice on reducing inequality; Public Policies on Equal Opportunities.

Scientific Annals of “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi (New Series) Sociology and Social Work Section welcomes original, interdisciplinary research, theoretical and empirical papers, based on either qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methodology that reflect the current ideas and practices in the social paradigms / ideology and intercultural communication areas.

All submissions will undergo a peer-group review process.

Scientific Annals of “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi (New Series) Sociology and Social Work Section aims to promote the remarkable results of scientific and empiric research of professors, researchers, students, and practitioners in the field of social sciences to stimulate the optimal functioning of academic and social fields. Analyses and theoretical-methodological sociological explanations as well as the exemplification of their values at the political, developmental and social work strategies and interventions level are welcome.

Scientific Annals of “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi (New Series) Sociology and Social Work Section are covered by several major indexing services including Erich +, EBSCO, PROQUEST CSA-Sociological Abstract, PROQUEST-Social Services Abstracts, PROQUEST-Worldwide Political Science Abstracts, Ulrich, IBSS, CEEOL, INDEXCOPERNICUS, SCIPIO and CNCSIS (2008-2011: B+ category).

English (with abstracts in Romanian, French and English)

The deadline for submission of articles is 30th of April 2025.
