In this article, I try to make a short presentation of Olivesi's book on Management Communication by following his main line of argument. Emerging from the critical tradition, his analysis shows some of the connections that are to be found between the new forms of communication and the new structures, rites and power relations within the organizations. All the themes that he approaches are seen from what we could call the „discourse-power” perspective. Those who have power (namely, the leaders and the top management of the companies) shape the company's discourse in a manner that best meets its needs and objectives; on the other hand, the company's discourse is used to produce or to reproduce the power relations. At the end, I suggest a few possible objections to Olivesi's ideas.References
