Abstract

Political philosophy interprets, analyses, but also offers possible solutions for the most debated topics and practices in contemporary societies. History and role of political philosophy, variety of the approached topics, illustrates its importance. Challenging the presence of political philosophy in political science, or denial of its ability to found political practices and institutions did not affect the development of political philosophy. Both the need to improve theoretical answers given to the problems of social organization and the hope that these answers will be the right ones remain present in contemporary political philosophy.
