Abstract

My paper explores the concept of argumentative fallacy. In spite of the fact that there is a rich history that goes all the way back to the classical antiquity, the recurrent study of fallacies proves that this subject matter remains a fresh one. The use of misleading arguments constitutes a serious threat to both our knowledge system (by means of spurring faulty beliefs) and our political debates (by means of creating inaccurate or misguided standpoints that compromise the process of deliberation).
